Plants for hire
We offer a personal service tailored to your requirements. The traditional bay tress are beautiful specimen plants and can be dressed in coloured ribbon to compliment your colour scheme and for that extra touch we can add fairy lights which add to the ambience of the evening.
All our topiary and palms are potted in authentic terracotta pots, which can also be dressed if required. The spiral topiary makes a stunning entrance piece especially in the evening with the fairy lights. All the topiary and palms can be used inside or outside your venue.
We offer the complete package of delivering, installing and pickup of the plants to your venue with no mess. A small charge is added for this service and is worked out on how far the venue is from our base near Truro.
Bay Trees (Laurus Noblis)
Originally an ancient mediterranean evergreen plant. These are grown in the classic topiary style which produces a specimen tree with overall height of 175 cm (6ft). These single stem trees have large ball like heads 70-80cm of dense, dark green foliage.
The trees are available in square or cylindrical authentic terracotta pots, which can be dressed if required with suitable materials.
We would recommend the trees are used in twos or threes to gain maximum effect. Giving a formal but elegant feel to the venue they are particularly suited to entrances and areas such as behind top tables and guest seating areas. The trees can be dressed in ribbon to match your colour theme and fairy lights giving any occasion that extra sparkle.
Spiral Tree topiary (Chamamecyparis Lawsoniana)
A traditional cedar or cypress tree cultivated for its gold and green dense foliage. The evergreen trees are grown over several years to form a clockwise spiralling tree of tight curves reaching an overall height of 2.5 metres (8 ft). At the base these spectacular specimens are 90cm (3ft) in diameter and rise gradually to a rounded point of soft curves and foliage.
As standard the trees are potted in enormous 90cm terracotta pots with a matching topiary motif.
We strongly recommend these trees for entrances and external walkways giving any venue height and instant appeal. These trees are difficult to dress in ribbon and we recommend fairy lighting especially if your function continues into the evening.
Cornish Palms (Cordyline Australis)
These striking Kiwi natives have narrow arching leaves around a clear stem. Potted in 60-70cm (2ft) diameter round terracotta pots, the plants stand 180cm (6ft) tall with a soft light green point. The narrow shiny green foliage radiates from the light brown stem to a diameter of 150 cms (5ft).
These plants are best suited to less formal areas such as bar and seating areas. Alternatively they can be used to soften hard walled areas and change the focal point. We can offer white fairy lights but find the blue flashing lights compliment the less formal areas.
Phoenix Canariensis
The Canary Island palms have a symmetrical shape with fronds extending to a diameter of 180cm (6ft). Potted in 60 - 70cm terracotta pots the feathering foliage extend well over the area of position, giving a tropical even jungle effect. Best suited to external ares of seating and decking.
We have found these plants very successful for evening barbecue style events. We recommend fairy lighting if the event continues into hot summers evening. Again can soften hard stone/painted court yard style locations and look stunning against marquee canvas.
